2021 Youtube bio image 1Rev. Dr. Joseph McBrayer

Hi, I’m Joseph. I enjoy music, technology, photography/video, digital story telling, creativity, and learning. I am passionate about life, justice, and community — and coffee. You can find my YouTube Channel here where I talk about cameras, technology, and ministry.

I’m an Associate Pastor for Connection and Digital Ministry at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, GA (ogumc.org). I am an ordained deacon in the North Ga United Methodist Church and I hold a Forestry Degree from Auburn University. I have a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. I have previously served in ministry with Emory Wesley Fellowship, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s Collegiate Ministry division, and Glenn Memorial UMC.

I grew up in West Georgia and I have lived in and around Decatur, GA for the past 17 years with my spouse, Frances, who is a social worker and Executive Director for FOCUS (focus-ga.org), a non-profit working with families of children with disabilities. We are adoptive parents to two remarkable girls and I’ll be happy to show to photos!

You can connect with me on Instagram @RevJmcbray, on Facebook, email me at jmcbrayer@ogumc.org, or drop by my office for a cup of coffee AND be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel where I explore Church Cinematography & Digital Ministry.

My Call to Ministry (produced by the MyUMCall team in the North Ga UMC Conference Office and the great storytellers at Station16).
