Morning Prayer at Oak Grove UMC

Neighboring God,

We know that we cannot live out our Holy call to Love you and our neighbors

by just living out a set of rules.

Help us to see that

EVERYTHING

and EVERYONE Is SACRED.

Help us to reclaim the lost art of neighborliness so that we might live fully into your call.

By your Holy Spirit, Teach us to see our neighbors — from local to global — as those created, just like us, made in your own image. Teach us that life is a gift and that you, the Giver, are good.

Help us to not fall so far into the way of faith as simply rules and laws that we miss opportunities to practice compassionate faith.

We ask this prayer in your Son Jesus Christ’s name—and all God’s people said: “Amen.”
